This event is open to members wishing to participate in the Annual Membership Banquet and/or the Annual Membership Meeting. We are not open to the public on this date. Individuals/families will not be allowed open access to the grounds on this date. A face mask will be required when on our show grounds. Those individuals who would only like to attend the Annual Membership Meeting will be permitted to enter the grounds at 12:55 pm, attend the meeting that will begin at 1:00 pm and exit the grounds immediately following the conclusion of the meeting. All guests will be required to wear a face mask (except when eating) and social distance. Those individuals who are purchasing tickets will be permitted on the grounds beginning at 12:00 pm and will be permitted to remain until the event is completed later in the day. The structure of this event will be following the same structure as our Annual Membership Banquet. Held on our grounds, abiding by all of the rules set forth by the CDC and the State of Pennsylvania Health Commission: Limited attendance, masks, social distancing, disinfecting, etc. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have opted to hold an Annual Membership Picnic. The Annual Membership Meeting is held at the beginning of the event, followed by a meal, entertainment, etc. Traditionally, Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association holds an Annual Banquet in a rented banquet hall. With the Annual Meeting and Chicken BBQ about a week away on September 26 I want to encouraged those attending to make the most of our time together. Dave Payeur is the Chairman with John Johnson, Dennis Hornberger, Jerry Myer, and Steve McCoy on the committee. The Rough and Tumble Board of Directors has choosen the Nominating Committee for the 2021 R&T Board. Alternate Directors are Dave Adams and Kathleen Hazzard. President Bud Burdy, 1st VP Dennis Hornberger, 2nd VP Butch Biesecker, Secretary Nina Wolf, Treasure Janice Glenn, Curator Bill Hazzard and Chaplain Jeff Long.ĭirectors are Allen Gruver, Steve McCoy, Jonathan Riehl, Paul Stevens, Dave Payeur, Glenn Stauffer, Warren Wolf, Douglas Carlisle, Tom Harding, Wayne Hartshorne, Bill Reber, and Walter Wilson. A private funeral service will be held at Alleva Funeral Home in Paoli, PA. He will be missed by his devoted wife of 30 years, Lois (Liz) Griesser, their 2 children, Eric and Annaliese, and by his many loyal friends and co-workers.
One of his recent joys was matching wits with his daughter Anna. As a member of the Exeter RC Eagles he spent weekends flying RC airplanes. In his spare time he volunteered at the Rough & Tumble Museum as a Machinist in the Line Shaft Machine Works, giving demonstrations to the public. His love of machinery and engineering lasted a lifetime: from taking apart machines as a toddler, to fixing up his first car - a red ‘67 Chevelle (with lots of body putty) - to gathering as many antique machines possible, and flying RC airplanes. The oldest of four, Tom soon showed his high intelligence and mechanical ability at an early age. He is survived by his mother and three siblings Theresa Smaling (John), Tim Griesser (Missy), and Ted Griesser. Longtime member Tom Griesser passed away SeptemBorn on Octoin Detroit, MI to David John Griesser and Suzanne (Hineline) Griesser, and is predeceased by his father David.
